Winter brings a perfect opportunity for yacht crew to catch up on essential training that may have been pushed aside during the hectic charter season. 

One such certification is the Short Range Certificate (SRC), which is required for anyone operating a VHF radio on board. The great news? The SRC/VHF course can be booked and completed online, offering a convenient way to study and prepare.

While the course is done remotely, the SRC assessment itself must be completed in person. The assessment includes both a theory exam and a practical evaluation of VHF radio operation, covering everything from distress calls to routine communications using DSC (Digital Selective Calling). It’s an essential certification for safe navigation in coastal waters.

• 10 October 2024: 4 pm - 5 pm
• 08 November 2024: 9 am - 5 pm
• 06 December 2024: 9 am - 5 pm
• 17 January 2025: 9 am - 5 pm
• 14 February 2025: 9 am - 5 pm
• 13 March 2025: 9 am - 5 pm
• 10 April 2025: 9 am - 5 pm
