YACHTING JOB SEARCH

The path into yachting often starts with a dream job. You imagine yourself on a superyacht, in the interior of it or on the deck, travelling around the world, docking in different ports, and you decide to get your career started on superyachts. First and foremost, you need the initial STCW Basic Safety training which you can complement with powerboat or jet ski license, or both; you can take the approved interior training to strenghten your knowledge and skills. Once the training's done, the certificates are received, and your ENG1 medical exam is passed, you can fully devote yourself to job hunting.

A job on a yacht. Where do you look for it?

Start with what you have immediately - the access to the Internet and online job platforms. Remember that the volume of applications is always non-negligent, so do not get desparate if there's no feedback. After all, online is online, and it can be quite frustrating when there's no live person to talk to. Seascope France Student during STCW Basic Safety training in Antibes

Once you’ve completed your training and you’ve prepared your CV, it’s the right time to head to yacht crew agencies – the middlemen between aspiring candidates and employers in search of crew. You will find a number of crew placement agencies in Antibes, and most of them are conveniently located in La Galerie du Port – a complex of business buildings grouped around Port Vauban, the largest port in Europe. You can google up the agencies, but we’ve done the job for you so you can find your first superyacht job faster.
