The Full Tender and Jet Ski Pack includes three courses to get your yachting career to a great start: STCW Basic Safety Training, Powerboat Level 2, and PWC/ Jet Ski license. The STCW Basic Safety is a mandatory training for all seafarers working on commercial vessels, and Powerboat and Jet Ski courses will give you additional skills and qualifications to make your CV stand out when applying for jobs on superyachts.

Powerboat Level 2

  • Place: Golfe-Juan
  • Duration: 2 days 
  • Pre-requisites: None / may be preceded by Level 1

PWC / Jet Ski License Course 

  • Place: Golfe-Juan
  • Duration: 1 day 

About the course

STCW Basic Safety Training referred to as STCW 95/10 A -VI/1 is a mandatory training for all people heading out to work at sea onboard commercial vessels including superyachts, cruise liners, expedition vessels, ferries etc. It is a minimum requirement to enter yachting industry.  

STCW Basic Safety Training is a 5-day long course comprised of five modules:

  • Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (STCW Reg. VI/1. Sect. A-VI/1 (para 2.1.4): understanding of on-board working conditions, safety procedures and accident prevention.
  • Personal Survival Techniques (STCW Reg. VI/1. Sect. A-VI/1 (para 2.1.1): survival at sea in the event of an emergency, life-raft familiarisation.
  • Elementary First Aid (STCW Reg. VI/1. Sect. A-VI/1 (para 2.1.3): basic first aid training & resuscitation.
  • Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (STCW Reg. VI/1. Sect. A-VI/1 (para 2.1.2): fire causes, prevention, extinguishing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Security Awareness (STCW Reg. VI/6. Sect. A-VI/6 (para 4):  importance of on-board security and how to recognise and react in the event of security threats.

The course provides students with an important introduction to working at sea and will equip them with necessary skills and knowledge to work safely on-board a seagoing vessel. 

RYA Powerboat Level 2 is a two-day comprehensive course which covers all aspects of powerboats, boat handling, safety and pilotage.

The RYA Level 2 certificates are recognized by the UK Coastguard and are used as a Tender License on board larger yachts.

1-day PWC /Jet Ski course includes launching & recovery, safety on water, navigation, high speed jet ski handling and taking care of personal watercraft. You will receive an RYA license to drive a jet ski legally.

Important information: It is illegal to drive a jet ski without a licence in the whole Mediterranean for safety & insurance reasons.

With PWC/Jet Ski license and actual experience riding jet ski you can advance your career as PWI / Jet Ski Instructor and offer training both onboard superyachts and onshore. 

Accommodation 

Our trainings and packages do not include accommodation. However, we work closely with a number of crew houses in Antibes that offer accommodation. Please, check the list here.

Great Course, Amazing People!

Seascope is absolutely the place to go if you are looking for STCW training or other trainings. Anastasia was so helpful and knowledgeable, she helped me over the phone to pick the right dates for me as I wanted to do the STCW + PWC/Jet ski package, she was very patient and understanding and I was very impressed by her professionalism and friendly manner over the phone.

Ged the STCW instructor was absolutely brilliant! He is very passionate about his work, very knowledgeable and made the courses very engaging and interactive. He’s a wonderful human, he made everyone feel welcome and was very patient with all our questions! Will absolutely love to do my refresher with him in 5 years.

Sammi the Powerboat L2 and PWC/Jet Ski instructor was amazing! She made the course fun and enjoyable. The practical parts were very engaging and she was very patient and confident which made me feel confident behind the wheel! She is very knowledgeable and passionate about her work. She’s a fantastic human and I would love to do more courses with her!

Sophie helped me with my final payment before I started the course when I arrived and has been very helpful throughout the entire time while completing all my courses.
